Trey Burleson was named the Richmond Times-Dispatch Male Scholar Athlete of the Month for April/May.

Here are some highlights of Trey’s answers to the various questions presented to them:
Athletic accomplishments: A track and field runner, Trey won the 1,600 meter run at the James River Invitational with a time of 4:29 and the Titan-Trojan Twilight Invitational with a time of 4:23. He also finished third in the 3,200 at James River with a time of 9:29. Last weekend, he ran the 1,600 in 4:19.69, a new school record.
Academic accomplishments: Trey was a winner of the 2015 West Point Leadership Award. He was a first-place state winner for DECA, too. He’s vice president of the National Honor Society and a member of Beta Club and the Spanish Honor Society.
Toughest opponent: “My teammate, Grant Northcutt. We’re great friends.”
Best sports memory: “This year at 6A South regionals, we unexpectedly won the region. Seeing the excitement on everyone’s face was one of my best high school memories.”
