Taylor Throws Shutout As Cosby Titans Defeats James River
Taylor Norton didn’t allow a single run against James River, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Cosby Titans to a 10-0 victory on Wednesday
Norton led Cosby Titans to victory by driving in four runs. She went 2-for-3 at the plate. Norton drove in runs on a single in the first and a double in the second.
Cosby Titans got things moving in the first inning. Cosby Titans scored one run when Norton singled.
Cosby Titans notched five runs in the second inning. Cosby Titans big bats were led by Bailey Hairfield, Norton, and Sophie Tully, who each had RBIs in the inning.
One bright spot for James River was a single by C Rose in the third inning.
Norton pitched Cosby Titans to victory. She lasted five innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out nine and walking one.
J Webster took the loss for James River. She went two innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits.
Cosby Titans launched one home run on the day. Jenise Kline had a homer in the first inning.
Cosby Titans totaled nine hits in the game. Norton, Laurenne Gallagher, and Leah Butts all had multiple hits for Cosby Titans. Butts, Gallagher, and Norton each collected two hits to lead Cosby Titans.
Rose led James River with one hit in three at bats.
