Cosby Titans Varsity Claims Lead In Seventh Inning To Defeat James River

Cosby Titans Varsity defeated James River 2-1 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with Cosby Titans Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when Taylor Norton hit a solo homer.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Norton struck out four, while Jordan Webster sat down two.
James River evened things up at one in the bottom of the third inning when Lauren Maloney singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Norton led the Cosby Titans Varsity to victory on the pitcher’s mound. She allowed six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out four.
Webster took the loss for James River. She went seven innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out two.
Cosby Titans Varsity racked up seven hits in the game. Leah Butts, Norton, and Lauren Bender each racked up multiple hits for Cosby Titans Varsity. Bender, Norton, and Butts each collected two hits to lead Cosby Titans Varsity. Cosby Titans Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Butts made the most plays with five.
James River saw the ball well today, racking up six hits in the game. Webster and Maloney all managed multiple hits for James River.
