4-Hit Day For Norton As Cosby Titans Varsity Skirts Past Bird

Taylor Norton didn’t feel much like getting out on Monday, tallying four hits and leading Cosby Titans Varsity to a 12-3 win over Bird. Norton singled in the second, singled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh.
Cosby Titans Varsity earned the victory despite allowing Bird to score three runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught by Bird was led by McKenzie Brown and Samantha Warmbier, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Cosby Titans Varsity got on the board in the second inning when Norton singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Cosby Titans Varsity tallied five runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught by Cosby Titans Varsity was led by Tivonia Cole, Sophie Tully, Lauren Bender, Jenise Kline, and Madison Dooley, all driving in runs in the inning.

Bracey Marshall took the loss for Bird. She lasted seven innings, allowing 14 hits and 12 runs while striking out five.
Cosby Titans Varsity had 14 hits in the game. Norton, Taylor Parrish, Jillian O’Shea, and Jessica Caminiti each collected multiple hits for Cosby Titans Varsity. Norton led Cosby Titans Varsity with four hits in four at bats. Cosby Titans Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Leah Butts made the most plays with ten.
Morgan Moore went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Bird in hits.
